Sefton Stars Annual Presentation Evening

St Elizabeths Hall: Bootle :  Friday 25th May 2018.

What a wonderful evening, celebrating the success of our players and teams.  A superb buffet provided by the basket ball ladies, compere was chairman Tommy Walsh,  prizes and trophies were presented to our players by Dan Walsh, photographs were taken by Jim Donnelly, and good music was provided by our own DJ – we even held a Dutch Auction for an overnight stay in one of Liverpool’s finest hotels!

Winners this year were    U16 Most Improved Player: Jack Kilham

Most Valuable Player: Joe Ray

Mens Most Improved Player: Clem Jones

Most Valuable Player: Nick Parnell

Womens  Most Improved Player: Rebecca Earley

Most Valuable Player: Sorcha Lennon

Team of the Year went to the Womens Team for their fabulous season in the Manchester Amateur Basketball League.

Tommy also thanked the coaches – Nick, Jamie, Essiah and Dan for all their hard work with the players and teams this season. Lisa Kelly for being at the table alongside Tommy. Caroline Mooney as manager for the U16 team. Lyndsay Simpson for providing sweets and raffle prizes at the home matches. Paul kilham for driving them to and from matches (and being the best sweeper up in Sefton – our very own Trigger!) Pam Kilham for having the loudest voice at home matches!!!!

Of course, none of this could have happened without the hard work and relentless hours that Diane and Tommy put into this club. Thank you both for a wonderful evening and all the hard work you do on behalf of Sefton Stars.

Coaching for Schools

We are constantly seeking to welcome new members, particularly to our Junior squads. Currently we are offering subsidised basketball coaching to all primary and secondary schools in the South of Sefton. We are committed to the social and physical development of all young people through the sport of basketball and welcome the opportunity to work with young people in the heart of their local community.

Please contact Tommy Walsh: Club Chairman and Level 1 coach on 07534 003851  or  Phil McLoughlin: Level 3 coach  on 07951 397552  if you are interested in Basketball coaching at your school.

We welcome our American and Canadian Basketball Friends in  July for the annual matches against our teams. Training session will be held on 2nd of July for all Sefton Star players.  Spectators welcome. Please see fixtures for details and tip off times.

We train and play our home matches at Litherland High School and are always looking for new players. Why not drop in and see us. We are there for scrimmage sessions every Monday from 7.00 – 8.30 for boys and men and Tuesdays from 18.30 – 20.00. for women.
